Have just returned from a fantastic week at the meads with children and small grandchilden .we had the most amazing time and made lots of memories. We had planned lots of trips out however when given
the choice both the children and grandchildren all chose to stay at the house with the garden being the biggest hit. Children enjoyed the trampoline and the many pathways through the trees we played
hide and seek, treasure trails and hunt the chocolate eggs! All in all a most memorable holiday kids are already begging to go back ( despite the horrendous 8 hr journey home!) many thanks

Just arrived home after a wonderful 7 night stay at The Meads.
We were a party of 7; 4 adults, 2 kids under 9 and a teenager.
Even before we arrived, we were excited to have booked up as the photos looked fab.
We weren't disappointed when we arrived, the place was even better and brighter than the website showed.
Arriving at the impressive grounds, the hosts welcomed us with a huge smile and a welcome basket of local products including wine.
    Nice start!
being led through the house, you couldn't help but admire the unique and quirky decor throughout.
There is a lot of love in this house and you instantly feel at ease.
There is nothing you will need apart from yourselves and your clothes! The hosts have thought of everything and I mean everything.
Games, Xbox, piano, picnic ware, bbq stuff, torches, more cooking equipment than you would find in Delia's kitchen, trampoline, books,DVD's, Sky tv package inc. sports and movies. A gym, a drying
room, a large firepit. I honestly could go on but you'll find out all the magic when you arrive.
There was very limited mobile phone signal but with free wi-fi, it didn't pose a problem.
Close by are local pubs, visitor centre and fantastic views of the peaks.
The garden grounds reminded me of Narnia. Go through a little bush and 4 acres of perfectly pruned garden awaits you.
You will need transport to visit attractions such as the caves, Buxton, Alton Towers etc but the house is so beautiful that a little car trip really is insignificant.
Overall, I loved it. We loved it. Even the 13 year old 'always bored and always unfair' teenager loved it.
Thank you for having us and this is a holiday memory that I will fondly remember.

This is the most wonderful, fantastical house that I have ever stayed in. The grounds are amazing and our children absolutely loved running around in the vast space, exploring, having adventures and
bouncing about on the trampoline. Truly amazing!

When entering the house your eyes are drawn to the rich wonderful colours. Each and every room is truly delightful with such unique charm! I have even taken away some design ideas!! The house is so
well equipped and anything and everything you could want, need or think about is there! Steam showers, an Aga, cosy rooms, books, games and much more. There is a truly lovely atmosphere.

Margaret and Graham, the owners, are brilliant and make sure you feel safe, secure and informed. I would completely recommend this house particularly to families as the experience was fantastic, we
were able to get out and about, visiting caverns and underground caves and Alton Towers. Definitely 5 star! *****

    Hi Margaret & Graham,
Sorry for the delay, had trouble with computer. We had a super week in the Garden Wing, thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking a retreat from everyday living, you certainly did us proud and your
home baking was really appreciated, the recommended walks were enthusiastically undertaken by 75 & 80 year olds who thoroughly needed the garden to recuperate in.
Kind regards, John & Liz Allen

Have just returned from a Girls walking weekend staying at The Meads. Wow! Truly the most fantastic house we've ever stayed in! Large, quirky, fun and absolutely everything you think you 'may' need
will be there. A fantastically equipped kitchen, toiletries, first aid, torches, laminated maps, cycle guides, DVDs, games... You name it, it was there! The grounds are equally amazing and it would
be great to visit again and stay in the summer to enjoy the veranda & garden. Two great pubs too 'the old nags head' and 'the Ramblers Inn' each just 5 min walk either direction from the house
... What more could you want! Don't forget to take the torches though as it's pitch black at night! Thank you Margaret for all the individual special touches. We look forward to visiting again
