The Rambler Inn-(link here) is a local pub within 5 minutes walk offering comfortable surroundings, log fires and an outside garden, a great atmosphere of walkers and cyclists and decent pub food and beer.
The famous Nags Head,(link here) a traditional pub, serving a good selection of ales, along with decent pub food.The Nags Head is a very old pub once the local smithy. It is very popular with walkers because it is the official start of the Pennine Way. There are log fires and an outside garden. This is also where the Beer Barrel Race finishes in September.
The Castle Inn (link here) is at Castleton a very picturesque village and is only 10 mins by car away(or you can walk) The Castle is a country pub and restaurant with an outside garden and log fires. Rustic and well laid out (caters for larger groups)cask ales, good wines, decent pub food and very fairly priced.
The Rising Sun (link here) is a family owned business offering good food in a comfortable surroundings. There is a garden and log fires. Very good for a traditional Sunday lunch.

Barbarella's (link here) in Buxton is new and very popular-more of a wine bar but very nice. Unusual decor and vegan options.
